Dai zemei’ (’at the twins’, in local dialect) is one of the most delicious taverns in Venice, loved by local people. In November, the traditional month of "high waters" when many roads were flooded, you would see men going about with high rubber boots. For a few coins, they would carry people on their backs, taking them from one dry spot to another, or transport passengers in the carts used to carry goods and crates of fruits and vegetables.
