Cloé Cabusat, the fortunate passenger, will be given free flights for a year
The airline offers 50,000 seats from €14 to celebrate this milestone
September, 19th, 2017– Volotea, the airline of mid and small‐sized European cities, has celebrated at Bordeaux Airport its fourteen millionth passenger carried since operations started in 2012. The airline wants to reward its passengers and it has put on sale 50,000 tickets from €14.
Volotea continues to grow in its 79 mid and small-sized European regional capitals where the airline operates, having carried more than 2 million of passengers this summer, a 40% increase compared to the same period last year. Volotea has achieved 87% of seat load, having operated 18,300 flights from June to August.
The fortunate passenger Cloé Cabusat, a student from Bordeaux and Airbus internship, has been the winner of this special prize: unlimited free flights for a year for her and a partner to all Volotea network from Bordeaux.
The prize has been given by and Edo Friart, Volotea’s Commercial Country Manager, in an event in which Pascal Personne, President at Bordeaux airport, was also present in Bordeaux.

The 50,000 seats from €14 are available for flights from October 2017 until March 2018.
In 2017 Volotea has added more than 40 new routes to serve a lineup of 243 routes, operating flights to 79 mid and small-sized European cities in 16 countries: France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Israel, Albania, Moldavia, Portugal, Malta, UK, Austria, Ireland and Luxembourg. Volotea has celebrated its fifth anniversary on April 5th 2017. In September, Volotea has reached 14 millionth passengers carried from its first flight in 2012.
Volotea operates from nine bases in 2017: Venice, Nantes, Bordeaux, Palermo, Strasbourg, Asturias, Verona, Toulouse and Genoa, in which it leads on number of destinations (except in Toulouse). Volotea headcount will reach 875 employees after adding 150 new positions this year to capitalize its growth in activity.
In 2016 Volotea had already experienced a significant increase in its operations becoming the fastest growing large LCC in Europe. Volotea also closed 2016 with a client recommendation rate of 92.5% and being the fourth most punctual low cost airline in the world, ranking third in Europe. The airline has been selected by TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2017 as the best airline based in France, Italy and Spain in the “Europe Regional and Low Cost” category.
Volotea operates its network with 28 aircraft this year, between Boeing 717s and Airbus A319s. Both models are recognized for their comfort and reliability, with Volotea offering reclining seats which are 5% wider than the average in airlines. More than 40% of the flights scheduled in 2017 are expected to be operated by Airbus A319, which is the aircraft model selected for its future growth.
Volotea expects to become a 100% Airbus operator in the next few years, which will allow the company to increase its passenger capacity by 20%, from 125 seats to 150 seats, and to operate longer routes.
Volotea, the airline of mid and small-sized European cities, offers direct flights at attractive prices. Its fleet is currently composed of 19 Boeing 717, with a configuration of 125 seats and will incorporate 4 Airbus A319 by the end of May 2016. Both models are recognized for their comfort and reliability, with Volotea offering reclining seats 5% wider than the average with approximately 30 inches of separation between each row. In 2016, the company will operate more than 38,000 flights across its 196 routes connecting 72 medium and small-sized cities in 13 countries: France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, The Czech Republic, Croatia, Israel, Albania, Moldova, Portugal, Malta and UK. Since its creation in April 2012, Volotea has transported more than 7 million passengers across Europe and transported more than 2.5 million in 2015.
