VOLOTEA CONFIDENT ON SUMMER OPERATIONS IN ITALY

Volotea confirms that a letter from ENAC (Italian aviation authorities) has been received on August 8th 2018. This communication is in connection with summer operational activities, and similar to others received by other airlines in current or previous peak seasons. Volotea is always at the disposal of relevant authorities to provide every detail and aspect deemed useful.

Volotea wants to confirm that the mission and commitment of the airline is to always provide the best service to clients as it has been recognized by TripAdvisors and our clients year on year. Volotea currently operates 155 routes in Italy, out of which 52 are domestic, connecting mid and small sized Italian cities and these with many European destinations. Volotea enhances direct flights from these cities and makes available unserved connections. Out of these 155 connections, 65% did not exist before Volotea started operations.

In order to undertake its operations, Volotea always operates with best-in-class aircraft, providers, teams and dimensioned resources to carry out its operations exceeding average standards in operational, customer support, safety, security and maintenance activities.

Volotea counts with 16 aircraft based in Italy, with three as back-up aircraft devoted to protect its European operations. Additionally, between one and three daily full stand-by crews in each of our bases in Italy are permanently on-call to assist when needed. Volotea currently employs in excess of 300 people locally in Italy, including pilots, cabin crews and administrative and operational professionals.

Despite the most adverse ATC delays environment in Europe this year, Volotea maintains in 2018 punctuality ratia above industry average standards with OTP15 exceeding 71% and performing ahead of most of the relevant low cost airlines in Europe. Furthermore, Volotea cancellation rate is again in 2018 amongst the lowest in the industry.

As for all airlines, it is not always possible to avoid disruptions when ATC and other external factor affect network capacity and scheduled operations, Volotea coordinates client assistance with subsequent flights, agreements with associated airlines, alternative transportation means and hospitality when needed. Volotea always does its best to ensure that passengers are properly assisted and informed at all times.

From the start of operations in April 2012 in Venice, Volotea has carried almost 10 million passengers in Italy, with high recommendation level. More than 2.5 million enjoyed Volotea flights in 2017. Volotea offers in excess of 3.5 million seats in 2018 in/from Italy, and plans to keep on growing in years to come, increasing the connectivity of different Italian territories.
