NEW CASE OF FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE IN MOROCCO

Back

Dear passenger,

In January, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), was informed of three outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease in Morocco (one of those in Tangier). We have been informed that foot-and-mouth disease is highly contagious and an outbreak in the European countries would have serious consequences, both on a health and on an economic level, including closure of export markets for certain processed food products.

Article 6 of Spanish Order AAA/2444/2015, of 19 November, establishes that “operators of international journeys must inform their customers that carrying animal products is forbidden”, in accordance with that established in Regulation EC 206/2009. This EC Regulation applies to all personal consignments of products of animal origin from other countries. Please click on the following link for all relevant information.

Thanks for your understanding,
