VOLOTEA BOOSTS CONNECTIVITY TO LILLE WITH THE OPENING OF SEVEN NEW EUROPEAN ROUTES

Barcelona, Faro, Menorca, Athens, Rome, Malaga and Heraklion: less than a month after opening its base at Lille airport, Volotea is introducing seven new routes, six of which are exclusive.

Volotea will be basing a second Airbus A319 in Lille from July for these new flights and plans to create 30 direct jobs and another 25 indirect jobs.

Press release, 28 April, 2022 - Volotea, the airline of European regional capitals, has announced the opening of seven new routes from its Lille base with flights starting in July. Volotea is the largest airline operating from Lille in terms of destinations with over half of its flights being exclusive. The airline is also planning to create 30 new direct jobs in the city thanks to this second aircraft.

As of today, Volotea is offering its passengers in the Hauts-de-France region direct access to Barcelona, Faro, Menorca, Athens, Rome, Malaga and Heraklion. This year, the airline will be offering a total of over 600,000 seats to 23 destinations, including 12 exclusive flights, from Lille Airport to seven countries: Spain (Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Menorca, Malaga), France (Ajaccio, Bastia, Bordeaux, Calvi, Figari, Montpellier, Nantes, Nice, Perpignan, Toulouse), Italy (Cagliari, Palermo, Venice, Rome), Bulgaria (Varna), Croatia (Split), Greece (Athens, Heraklion) and Portugal (Faro).

Less than a month after the opening of its Lille base on 1 April, and as part of its new operations, Volotea will supplement its fleet in Lille with a new A319, which will allow the company to strengthen its commitment to employment in the Hauts-de-France region with the creation of 30 direct jobs and another 25 indirect jobs, not to mention other jobs that are likely to be needed to manage the extra work generated by this additional traffic.

Lille - Barcelona

From 11 July 2022, Volotea will operate the Lille - Barcelona route three times a week (Mondays, Fridays and Sundays). A new exclusive route from Lille to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport, its second destination in Spain.

Lille - Faro

From 11 July 2022, Volotea will operate the Lille - Faro route once a week (Mondays). A new exclusive route from Lille to Faro airport, its first destination in Portugal.

Lille - Athens

From 12 July 2022, Volotea will operate the Lille - Athens route twice a week (Tuesdays and Saturdays). A new exclusive route from Lille to Athens Eleftherios-Venizelos airport.

Lille - Menorca

From 13 July 2022, Volotea will operate the Lille - Menorca route once a week (Wednesdays). A new exclusive route from Lille to Menorca airport, its third destination in Spain.

Lille - Rome

From 14 July 2022, Volotea will operate the Lille - Rome route twice a week (Thursdays and Sundays). A new exclusive route from Lille to Rome - Leonardo da Vinci airport, its fourth destination in Italy.

Lille - Malaga

From 14 July 2022, Volotea will operate the Lille - Malaga route once a week (Thursdays). A new exclusive route from Lille to Malaga - Costa del Sol airport, its fourth destination in Spain.

Lille - Heraklion

From 16 July 2022, Volotea will operate the Lille - Heraklion route once a week (Saturdays). A new route from Lille to Heraklion Níkos-Kazantzákis airport, its second destination in Greece.

Tickets will go on sale in France today, through all distribution channels and on the Volotea website: www.volotea.com.

The airline, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in France this year, opened its new base in Lille on 1 April. Volotea intends to play a major role in the economic and social development of the regions in which it operates, notably by creating local jobs, with over 200 new indirect local jobs and a total of more than 600 Volotea employees in France by 2022.
